Västanvinden (The Western Wind) plays groovy trad music from Sweden and the other Nordic countries. The unusual combination of instruments (harmonica, clarinet and cittern) gives the trio a unique sound and offers a fresh take on traditional fiddle tunes.
The connection between traditional music and dance is a major source of inspiration for the trio and they regularly play live for dancing.
The group was founded at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm where all three members have studied.
In October 2021 Västanvinden’s self-titled debut album was released.
